The most effective filter technology in the market
The Allermed CA 50+ uses the same filter technologies as used in critical areas such as operating suites and High-Tech clean rooms:
HEPA filtration and gas adsorption.
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting) filtration was originally developed by the American Commission for Atomic Energy, to eliminate radioactive airborne particle. The device uses a real HEPA filter, which has an efficiency of 99.97% for a particle size of 0.3 microns (0.0003 mm). This particle size is important because it is very difficult to eliminate them by air filters. A special feature of the HEPA filter is that its extremely high efficiency does not decrease with time but increases, as it happens for example with electrostatic air purifier. To ensure a long life time the device contains an extra amount of valuable HEPA Filter - to be exact: 8 qm.
Activated carbon and mineral silicate - Effective Gas- and Odour-deposition
For an effective deposition of a wide range of gaseous compounds and odours the HEPA device uses two gas absorbing substances: activated carbon and mineral silicate. Most of the air purifiers contain - if any - only a few grams of this "Gas Filters"; the Allermed CA 50+ device contains by contrast, 6.5 kilograms. The device thus ensures, in contrast to a conventional air purifier, an effective deposition of organic compounds, such as Benzene, toluol and formaldehyde, which burden many interiors as part of a complex cocktail of pollutants.

The 4-stage filter system of HEPA
Because of its four separate filter levels the Allermed CA 50+ is one of the most perfect filtering device that was ever built: The room air passes through two pre-filter, which filter larger particles such as fibers, heavy dust and pollen. Then the air flows through a 3.5 cm thick layer of granular activated carbon and mineral silicate. Finally, the air flows through a thight folded 8 sqm Suspendend solid filter (also called HEPA filter).
